I don't know if this is a bug, but in EV, I have had a big trouble getting around the universe.

Let's see here, I have no offense in any Confederate systems (I'm actually a Role Model in most of them), but then I enter a small Confederate system (as an Argosy) and there are Gunboats and Frigates attack me for no good reason. So, I fight back and I destroy them, but then I go to my map screen and just about all nearby Confederate systems hate me (I usually drop to Fugitive or something)!

Is this a bug or just something that concerns AI?

Well i've gotta hand it to you. You've stumped me. This has never happened to me before, but i can offer some moral support and some two bit advice. Ask yourself these questions. They may sound stupid but hey, sometimes it can help.

1. Have i accidently picked up any rebel missions at the spaceport bars?
   If you have, it will be part of the mission for ships to attack you. You describe it as only when entering certain galaxies so that leads me to believe that that is wrong.

2. Am I using any illegal outfits?
   While i have never actually looked into this, the shield regenerator says that it is illegal in confederate galaxies... hmm......

3. Could they just be psycho confeds?
   This may sound silly but it is true. THere are governments called psycho this and psycho that (psycho rebels or aliens, etc.) psycho makes me think they may just be into xenocide and they will attack everything. think about it.

OH AND BY THE WAY: This is an excellent post for the EV web board. its only 4 links above this one. You may be more responses. Just helpin out.

You might want to see if you have an older version of EV. That seems strange that your legal status could change so drastically.

The same thing happens to me, but it's with any governemnt, not just the Confeds. It seems that once I am well liked by a government, every once in a while they will start attacking me for no reason. Sometimes I carry illegal outifts and sometimes I don't; I think they attack me either way, and I doubt that it's the cuase because it never happens unless the government that attacks me for no reason really likes me.

In classic EV, illegal outfits are exactly the same as normal outfits, except that they're not sold on as many planets. Override is a bit different, and Nova is another story completely.

Psycho ships usually only show up as part of a mission.
