I was wondering if it is possible to take over earth? or is it just really hard, those damn frigates!!!

It's possible, technically. In reality, it's only really possible with cheating. A few thousand frigates, I believe.

I tried taking earth once but I nearly died straight away. I was in my cool rebel Destroyer and 4 Confed frigates totally fried me! Arrrrgh! So then I tried to take over Mars, but it was just loads of fighters. I killed loads, and then I got bored and stopped.

I did it once without cheating. I did it while flying in a Confed Crusier with five other Confed crusiers and rebel destroyer. Took me nearly sixteen hours to dominate all Sol, but I did it. The secret is to demand tribute from all the stellars in Sol. Lost my destroyer and two of my crusiers though. A sad, sad day. Anyway just throwing my two cents.

Just get tons of escorts and launch tons of fighters and then Earth can only launch 1 or 2 frigates at a time. I'm not sure on the exact way to do it, but I think using this strategy you can easily take over Earth.

Well, at the time I did it I didn't have enough RAM to keep EV running in the backgroud. :frown:

To everyone who asked where I found the time for sixteen hours, I reply. I have little time on the weekends, and I have played EV for god knows how long. Also took on the Orius system in EVGE. Dominated too. Also left a string of dominated planets across the Orion sector. I'd love to see someone do that. Also claimed victory over 30 Alien Command Cruisers and 5 Annilators. Anyway, my life is boring beyond doubt.

I have dominated Earth - and in eight hours!
I was in a Rebel cruiser and had eight Kestrel escorts. I waited until a confed patrol ship attacked me, making my escorts deploy their fighters, and then demanded tribute from earth. Just run in circles away from the torpedoes and keep firing! The main key is to demand tribute ONLY when there is no defense fleet left. You then have to do the entire thing again (without landing - it does mess it up).
