    • WIN-MAC EV plugins

the plugins i d/l dont work cuz of some bullsh*t errors. I run my EV on an executor off a windows 98... i believe they need to b uncompressed, but it always sends them compressed.. i dunno actually tho... someone who knows what they talkin about reply or someone who can hook me up with either one that makes everything accesible and free or one that makes the cargo missions and rush missions worth 10-25 million a peice, accordingly that is.. Those will need to work for what im using to run the game, thnx.

    • It seems the Macintosh people are more pleasant...

All Escape Velocity and Escape Velocity Override plug-ins must be decoded and decompressed. Stuffit Expander http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander/expander_win_login.html can take care of this for you. The plug-in types are not interchangeable, either.

If you are having problems with Executor I reccomend you try out another emulator. Some links:

      SoftMac http://www.emulators.com/softmac.htm

Ambrosia has a database of plug-ins. The cheat category is at

    • That 'suck my whatever' business isn't as cool as you might think.

All the plugs available on the Ambrosia site are compressed. You can't use Executor to decompress plugs (though you can play the plugs under Executor once they're decompressed). What you need is StuffIt for Windows by Aladdin Systems. It will expand even Macintosh files compressed using common formats. Then you can run the plugs under Executor. But you'll probably have to actually buy it; I don't think there's a free version available.

As for cheat plugs: there's a whole bag of them available through the EV Add-Ons page.

    • They are in text format because of a little something called resource forks. Resource forks contain ALL of the data in a plug. Thing is, resource forks are unique to the Mac. Thus, when decompressed, Windows strips the resource forks, crippling the plug.

The whole purpose of these boards is to ask questions/help others/express opinions... I would not have posted my question if I thought I could find the answer in a reasonable way.. Im not familiar with macs and am asking the help of someone who is. If you arent going to bother then there is no need to write unnecessary comments.

Unstuff it on to your pseudo mac partition using Stuffit Expander™ from your emulator (ie the mac version of the stuffit program from the emulator on to your partition)

      That should do it...
