Has anyone tried to take over Ruby???? I did and sat there for hours killing ships. :mad: Do they have unlimited ships???????

No planet (or station or moon for that matter) has unlimited ships. Certain ones do have quite a large defense fleet however. Ruby is one of those. As is Earth, if that's your next destination.

Get about 32 or 33 escorts, then tell them to hold position away from the planet so they don't inadvertanty get killed, then demand tribute as much is as needed, you shouldn't have to kill that many ships this way. This is kind of a cheat I suppose, but that's the easy way of taking over Ruby, Earth, Stardock Alpha etc.

Okay, get 6 Cruisers as escorts, by disabling weak ships and using them as your own, then buying another cruiser untill you have enough. Then, buy yourself a Cruiser and buy a hawk bay and two hawks. Demand tribute from the planet and let your escorts launch all fighters (Rebel Cruisers have a faster launch rate, and I consider them better) When all escorts fighters are launched, hold down the launch key for your fighters and destroy an enemy ship. Your fighter will launch when the enemy ship explodes. Keep doing this untill you are out of fighters. You should have only one enemy ship out. destroy that and then demand tribute again. it should work.

The person who posted this message ive gone to his house, and i was there for 3 boring hours trying to kill all the confed gunboats and partrol ships
MY suggestion, stay away from Ruby until u feel good enough to stay in a system killing guys for hours

Um, what you do to get all the escorts is you buy a ship like a Rebel Cruiser or a kestrel, then leave the planet and launch it's fighters, then land and buy another ship, continue thuis until you can't launch anymore ships, then go to RUBY and do as I said before.

So it is possible to take over Ruby and sol etc..... How much money do you get paid for tribute after defeating them. And is it possible to defeat pirate planets? Or matt burch?

Of course its possible to defeat pirate planets, they're easy all they have is rapiers. Matt burch i dont know about. It probably is but he probalby has shields around 10,000 or something.

An Alien Marauder from EVGE takes care of that nicely...the disintegrator weapon can destroy fleets in a matter of seconds...

Can anyone tell me approximately how many ships Ruby has? I actually have the
game paused right now, and I want to know if it's worth the trouble to finish
the job. I came in a Corvette with 6 Defender escorts (which are all gone now).
I've been destroying their ships at the rate of about 6 a minute for about 4
hours. I found it rather odd that most of the planets have only a few dozen
ships, but this one has thousands.

I think it is set to the max number that the planet can hold. About 30K I think. All the main planets have them.
I have taken over every planet. Took about 2 months of none stop playing but it is do able.
