After finishing the Polaris mission of destroying something really big (not to be a spoiler), I go back to Polaris but nothing happens. I checked and the thing is gone. I've done this several times with the same results.

Please help, I want my Wrath !

    • You never get the wraith.

Are you referring to the Alien Portal ? I've destroyed it several times. Once when I left the system where the A.P. is before it completely blew, I returned to Polarius to find no reaction. Otherwise my only complaint is that they merely let you keep the fuel replicator as your reward (I was hoping for 20 mil). On the other hand if you are suggesting that there is a Polaris mission whose successful completion permits you to acquire the PS Wraith, then I would really like some details. I have tried to disable it several times in hopes of capturing it, but apparently it has no armor, since it blows when the shields hit zero. If there is such a mission, perhaps you would be interested in trading a copy of a pilot file
of a pilot who has acquired the mission, for copy of the file of my pilot who has 1.1+ billion credits, and flies an Alien Marauder. (all acquired without cheating)

    • I had thought that the Alien Portal mission did lead to the right tp purchase the Wraith, but I guess not.
So I can't give you the pilot file. As far as the Marauder is concerned, I flew one in the old version of the game and don't need to do it again, but thanks for the offer.

From your respective, I suspect that the Marauder is stronger than the Wraith, and you would be traiding down.

I though it might be cool to try the Wraith, but I guess I've about played this plug out.

    • Yeah i'm trying to beat the alien portal, and how did you guys do it?!? i have a Proxima battlecruiser with 14 sheild capacitors tritanium armor sheild booster durasteel armaplast and still can't beat it! HOW DO YOU DO IT?

I've done it a couple of times with precisely the outfit you have. Just circle the A.P. at a respectable distance while continuously firing your disrupters ( the green primary weapon ) If you're bothered by the Alien ships in the system, you can fly up to the North wall (or any other wall) and fly back and forth up there eluding the little alien ships, for a while until the big alien ships are almost there. Then cloak (since you have the fuel replicator, you can remain cloaked indefinately) and high tail it back to the A.P. and start blasting away. You should be able to disable it before the big ships get back. You still have to be careful not to get too close to the A.P. I've also done it with a Polarus Heavy Cruiser and about 90 nuclear torpedoes. Of course, if you joined up with the Confeds early in the game, you won't have the cloak.

    • Yeah, that's about how you do it. I also did it in a Polaris Heavy Cruiser (actually a very nice ship). If you have some heavy armament, you can quickly buzz by the portal and reduce the time to destroy it. Keep you fleet turned off since all they will do is atach the other alien ships (or perhaps the portal) and get killed.

My questions are: 1) what is the reward for doing this supposted to be, assuming there was no bug? 2) Is there any particular reason to play this plug twice?

You get to keep the fuel replicator, and you are permitted to buy the "Black Lightning" with which you can disable and possibly capture Alien Command ships, and/or Marauders. When I play this game, my final goal is to capture an Alien Marauder--and maybe use it to dominate Earth.

    • If you want a Marauder, I would suggest that you get an Orion Galactic (something ... that Huge ugly ship), and the largest (not necessarily the best) fleet. This is for capturing percentages. Three Black Lightning shots will neatly disable the Marauder. Note: the Marauder is a killer and does not have enough of a crew to capture well ... so I would suggest that you capture a few Alien Command Ships first, then your Marauder. Two B/L will disablle a Command Ship.

Beware, the rules may have changed. The authors were a bit disturbed (earlier convesations) that some or us were able to fly the Wraths and Marauders, which were susposed to be out of reach, and may have changed the math.

You will find, however , tha t when fighting you only opponents, another Alien fleet, that you have to use your Marauder in a defensive fole protecting you r Alien Command Ships from Alien Attack Cruisers. The Command Ships are surprisingly vulnerable.

Boy, the Marauder with their Alien Fighter/Bomers are powerful, but NOT invincable.

    • Yep. Leaving the system before it blows up is bad. Very bad. You won't get the credit you deserve.

The reason you don't get anything other than the fuel replicator iis because of the limitation of the EV engine - you can't have more than one reward - it's either credits or an outfit. So live with it.

Dominating Earth? Good luck. In EVGE, the Confed Frigates are replaced with Naval Bases. And since domination fleet ships continue to fire while they're blowing up, even a Marauder will be turned into space dust.

What do you mean the rules have changed? You can disable Marauders. And Wraiths too, but they're much harder.

Currently I'm working with the author to bring you an update to EVGE - most likely the last from him. Things are going slowly, because I'm lazy, but it'll happen someday. It'll be worth the download (maybe not the wait - we started the update at least a year ago).

    • It's a snap to dominate Earth with a Marauder-except that it takes about 3 hours.
I've done it twice (maybe 3 times) in Marauders. Sure, Earth puts out waves of two Naval Bases each, but they start to detonate at the touch of one of the disintegrater thingies. The marauder has incredibly strong shields, with a little care, you can dominate Earth without having your shields drop below 80%. When the Bases appear, just fly in and fire the disintegrater, (Usually you can get both Bases with one blast.) then back off and wait for the next wave. Most of your time will be spent waiting for the bases to blow.
