    • Multiplayer(like around 200 Players) Internet Play Idea

In Escape Velocity, there should be a internet hive where hundreds of Escape Velocity owners have linked there game. You can meet other people playing. Real people would be displayed on radar as white, and when you hail them, you can have a real internet chat, live("Hey dude, Nice Confederate Battle Cruiser. Where'd you get it?"). It would be so cool 🆒! What do you think?

    • Newbies. sigh

It'll never happen in our time, kiddo. Ambrosia doesn't have the resources for such a project. kberg on the dev board is doing an EVMP, but it's going pretty slowly. Don't hold your breath.

In the meantime, if you have a Power Mac G3 or G4, check out (url="http://"http://www.parsec.org")Parsec(/url). While it's not out yet either, it's the next best thing to EVMP.

    • Heheh... That is a nice idea, but ambrosia will never do it. Theyre busy doing other things, and i dont know what. They have announced that ev will never be updated again once of twice in the past. I remember on the old board people would be suggesting multiplayer EV like 3 times a day and making it sound like a revoloutionary idea that no one ever even fathomed... heh

    • Hey guys! Lighten up!

Remember that mcb wrote EV when he was a senior in high school.

Young Master Cole won't even be in high school for several years yet.

Not only might something like he envisions happen; he might even be the one to make it happen. No telling where this technology is going in the next ten years.

Squishing dreams is really bad manners. Let's do better.

Yeah, but Matt probably could program by the time he was this guy's age. This guy (i think) can't program yet.

    • So? Some of us are fast learners.

      ------------------

    • Heh...since when has there been the rule that you have to program well before the age of 12? 😛

Believe it or not guys, there are programmers that have gone through puberty! And they still program!

    • Actually, I think the multiplayer people could meat each other ONLY in one system, and no computers allowed(except escort). I think that would be easyer to program, you know.

    • Hmm... is there a feature list for EV3? Is there a chance that it will be the legendary EVMP?

::is praying like hell that it will::

      -Datax

      ------------------

    • Not EV3, Datax, AW has already stated numerous times that it will NOT be EVMP, and that Ambrosia will not be making an EVMP. I don't know if it's still around, but check out the newsletter, someone wrote a very good article about it, stating pros cons etc. Read it.

It is an important and popular fact that things are not always as they seem. For instance, on planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent that dolphins, because he had achieved so much-the wheel, New York, wars and so on-while all the dolphins had ever done was muck around in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man-for precisely the same reason.

    • You are not completely correct Mr. AllPowerfulAuthorPerson...

In a post andrew made a little while ago (not sure where..just remember seeing...something to do with EV3) he simply said that they did not have plans to make EV3 at the moment...

That's a huge stepforward from "never, not now, not ever!" to "Just not right now".

      Maybe it will happen...EV4 maybe?
