I have decided to survey people which you would rather be a part of?
Here are the choises:

Confederation: Fun, great ships, advanced missions, leagle status in rebel systems bad, great pay, Rebels and bounty Hunters trying to kill, and good weapons.

Rebels: Fun, great ships, hard missions, leagle status is bad in Confed systems, great weapons, Confeds and bounty hunters
trying to kill you, and ok pay.

Trader: Boring, bad ships, low pay, leagle status is good in all systems, bad weapons, ambushed alot, and easy missions.

Pirite: Super Fun, worthless life, leagle status is bad in all sytems except in pirite systems, huge pay, OK ships and weapons, and ileagle missions.

I would be a Fed, because almost every time I see a 1 fed cruiser againest 2 Rebel Cruisers, the fed wins.

PS: I've never been a bounty hunter so if you've been one, please tell me.

Tip: If your a pirate and you don't want a bad leagle status, look to see if any fed, rebel, or milita are in the system. If not disable a trader or merchent
then board and steal there credits. Then click abort, but don't destroy the ship. Now you know how to get away with a eleagle crime.

Rebel. And you get two (2) weapons if you play as Rebels. Only one (1) if you play for the Confeds. And the particle beam ain't that good. It sucks up fuel really fast. It's practicly useless against the alien crusier, while the tractor beam REALLY helps in the Alien missions. Rebel missions may be harder but also more fun.

I would like to be Confed, but the Rebels arent that bad either. And, in case you didnt know: There exists a plugin which will make the Particle Beam not waste fuel...

Rebellion. The ships are better in general. Speed & maneuverability helps. And you get what you pay for, rather than the overpriced Confed ships that are as slow as anything with bricks tied to its head. Armament isn't everything, as you could defeat an Alien Cruiser with a couple lasers and a layer of armaplast.

My Advice: Become a pirate. But then again i always say that, so be a bounty hunter for a bit then something more permanant later. Never be a trader they are victims and get robbed (mostly by me actually). Be a rebel, if your a rebel you can raid confed convoys and ships, wich gives you the fun of being a pirate with half the risk. As a confed there are no rebel freighters. Being a bounty hunter is good at first, everyone likes you but the missions are always the same. Anyone wanna know how to be liked in a pirate system or do you already know?

Also, there are pirate missions, drug running, arms dealing, stuff like that.
