Its a programming tool that allows people to edit the resource forks of files. Because alot of EV's data is kept in the resource fork, rather than just compiled, the user is able to alter many many aspects of the game.

It can be used, in EV's case, to change any of the resource files and to create plug-ins.

It is a tool developed by Apple programmers when they were designing the Mac OS, it is used for editing resources: Resource Editor = ResEdit. It can be used for anything that requires creating or modifying resources, including making plug-ins for EV and EVO.

ha ha ha. As if resedit sounds italian. But funny, nonetheless.

BTW, to GETING BUTT KICKED, we have no problems with newbies, but please could you change your username to lowercase, at least?

To do that you will need to re-register, but it would be most appreciated...

      Maybe I should call.

    • By the way, if you want to use ResEdit to its full potential, and not just for EV, I recommend that you get SuperResEdit, and install the extension Forker. That way, you can edit data forks, and decompile programs to assembly.

    • SuperResEdit ? Cool ! I want it ! Where could I find it ?

    • Go here: (url="http://"http://www.happyhack.com/pages/network-utilities.htm")http://www.happyhack...k-utilities.htm(/url) . SuperResEdit is a legitimate app, I just couldn't find a legal site.

Didn't see much difference from ResEdit with the forker extension and "Super ResEdit" which was very little altered (a few things added).

Where exactly do you decompile it? Saw no extra feature to do that....

In the CODE resource. =P Of course, Resourcerer does a better job at what 'SuperResEdit' does it just has a POS sys. 7 interface.

    • i think resourcer is based on hypercard. it has that "feeling" to it. there's no way to change the POS-esque appearance, either. i've tried. but it still kicks @ss.
