    • help using plugins

Sorry for being a newbie but...
Is Stuffit Expander alone sufficient for unstuffing newly downloaded plugs?
Once I have a .sit file, how do I put it in a usable state?
Whenever I try to use Stuffit Expander to unstuff a .sit file, it simply give me another .sit file.
Thanks. Is their a different board I should post on?

yeah, stuffit's all i have and need 😉
plugins usually are in a folder & the folder gets stuffed. i think by default stuffit expander don't delete the .sit file, so it'll still be there

    • I can only find the .sit file that usually comes up right after I download.
When one opens the plug to a usable form, does it appear in a folder on the desktop?
I think it could be the disk error that supposedly occurs when I double click a .sit.bin file.

oh, if it's a .bin file then yes, you'll end up with a .sit file when you open the file. just open the .sit file too.
disk error? your hard drive or a diskette?

    • The message when I double click a .sit file is that Stuffit cannot be found.
Maybe it is not recognizing my copy of Stuffit expander that should unstuff it.
I guess I should get the real stuffit. Also, sometimes a dialog box asks for the
application that created a .sit file - not even stuffit.

    • Also, go into Expander, and check the destination to which it unstuffs. You'll probably want it in the same folder as the .sit file.
