Escorts, that you capture, should be able to be sold at a space port. You should also be able to customize them as you would like.

You can sell captured escorts now (Lightnings, specifically) if you're flying a Kestrel.

I think it would be cool if when you captured a new ship, and your old ship became your escort, I think that escort should have your prev. ship's name.
