How does "Paste PICT as Lightmap" work?
Is it a grayscale image?
If so, how many shades of gray can be used?

Question 1: How do I know if my grayscale pict is 8-bit (I'm not a graphics person). I'm using a program called Canvas, and I just select grayscale for my picts.
Question 2: I made a lightmap and pasted it into my level. It appeared okay. The light and dark shades appeared correctly. But when I played it in Ferazel, I didn't see any light changes. Why is this?

You may have to set level INFO(0) to 1. I'm guessing, but since Ben's levels are set to 1 and no screwy effects occured...

Er...perhaps it is time to get rid of the electoral college. Or at least make Florida divvy up its votes. Anything that keeps Bush locked up in the Guv's mansion, out of trouble.
Thank you. I set it on 1 and everything worked out. I tried setting it at different darknesses in the info field and it didn't seem to alter the lighting, which makes sence, since you are controlling the lighting through the lightmap, not by the number.
Now, onto general uses for the lightmap. This is just for overall lighting of the level. So there can be darker and lighter areas, right?
