I'm supposed to trace a hacker who broke into a system. No problem right?
Except I always hit a dead end. I break inot the server which they tell me was hacked. Check the logs.
There is nothing at the time, or even the day, of the reported hack. What am I supposed to do?
This may be a bug, I recently downloaded the latest version of Uplink.

My own solution is to destroy whatever computer they send me to investigate. I figure they deserve it for giving me bad information. Plus it helps keep up my ranking after abandoning the mission.

That isn't a glitch. You have to except VERY recent missions (preferably less than of a couple hours). After this there is a good chance the hacker has double backed and cover his traces.

Little hint: the hacker may use a lower version of log deleter. So, what you need to do is...

You really have to ask yourself, would you get caught? How quickly would somebody else need to trace you down before your trail got cold?
