ok im very new to the game, i've only been playing it for 2 days, and no matter how many places i bounce it off of when i get missions to hack level seven and landmark they track me almost immediately, i have the password hack v1.0 and dictionary hack v1.0 and tracer track v2.0 and i have my upgraded gateway, the one that claims you wont get cought (i dont know the exact name off the top of my head) so every time i get in there im trying to figure out the password before im even on the third letter they have me tracked to 50% and i cant abort the mission cuz i've aborted so many no one wants to hire me anymore, what should i do?

ALWAYS bounce off tons of servers especially high security or government servers it is very tedious but it helps, wow i only have the demo and i can be helpful

im supposed to go into the system and delete a file then get out, and i bounce off many different things, i have the social security database and the academic data base added to the list of the things i can bounce off of, so i'm bouncing off alot of stuff, i think i'd be stealthier if i had a big neon sign hanging over my head that said "hey im trying to hack you" shakes fist at my game

How much cash do you have? Can yo spring for any upgrades? Especially Trace_Tracker v.4. That will give you a precise estimate of how much time you need. Also, do you have log_deleter v.4? uhh i just copied this from the little computer screen next to the software one

uhh and my gateway is the one that claims that they cant track you it was like 15something

One thing you can do to make the tracing take longer is to have accounts on the systems you are bouncing through. Any account will help (an empty bank account, for instance). Having admin access helps even more.

If you have admin access on a server, its box on the map will have a square around it.

If you have an account on a server, its box will have a dashed square around it.

To get admin access, you hack the password and then just disconnect (you don't need to "proceed").

To get accounts on servers ... just open an empty bank account in each bank, and the stock market.

ok, i went in and added every public access server out there to my list so now im bouncing off about 37 different places, the trace was still flying but it only got upto about 50% before i was done, i even had time to delete a few random files for fun, i like breaking into the social security place and making people deceased that are alive

A sugeston. Get more places to bonce your signal. You can do this by going to InterNIC, browse/search, and just hit a bunch of Add Link buttons.

I did that for a while before I realized that the reason that my gateways kept getting destroyed was that I was using really dangerous companies to bounce off.
Stick with the ones you have accounts on, and some that you have administrative privelages for.

Public Access servers will hardly give you any extra time and take up too much room on the map. Try getting accounts at every bank and Ricia is right, I always have Admin access to a few servers as well. I haven't found that any of them are too dangerous, you just loose your rights after using them as bounces after a while. Also, the Academic, Social Security and Criminal Databases give you the most time but, only if you hack them first. And yes! Log Deleter 4 is mandatory but, don't delete your "connected" log because, it would look suspicious that your number only disconnected when you leave INTERNIC.

U can also revert cpu usage to your password cracker thing and it goes a lot faster.

By the way buy at least two 200 turbo c.p.u.s when u can.
