Hello, after getting caught and restarting a few times i finnally stopped trying to hack uplink internal...so i sat around bored and recieved a email from a deadguy...
the deadguy goes on about about some major cover up or whatever at ARC and its time to come to gether as hackers etc etc
how the hell do i get into the mainframe? I need to connect to it via a machine thats on the network...so how do i do that?

Sorry, computer_man, but it's not a storyline mission.
To connect to a mainframe, you must bounce the connexion through another server of the same company, before connecting to the mainframe.
I usually only use the internal service machines, and it work well.
And last thing, you will need the admin voice to enter a mainframe.
But here, you just need to try to hack ARC's mainframe, you'll receive a mail some time after.
And even if you succeed (i did), you won't find anything very usefull.

I have GR. By the way, the easy way to connect to the ARC Mainframe and get the admin voice:
1.) Log-on to InterNIC
2.) Go to search/browse
3.) On the filter, type in (case-sensitive) ARC
4.) Hit the filter button
5.) Find the one the says ARC public server and hit the Add Link button
6.) Disconnect and connect to ARC public server (you don't need to bounce)
7.) Go in and hit the Add Link button for the admin's phone number.
8.) Call him with the voice analiser on
9.) Bounce your singnel to most links then bounce off the ARC public server and then to the main frame
10.) You can guess the rest
