can somebody give me a list of possible crimes to give people in the criminal database?
As much as you know
I need to know so it isnt a pattern of the crimes i give people

You can make up any crimes you like. The only thing it cares about is that one line of text = one crime. As someone elsewhere in the forum pointed out, you can get people jailed for "Nice guy", "Pays Taxes" and "Always meets parole". As long as it's 3 lines and includes the word "parole".

You don't need to worry about the game seeing patterns - it's not that sophisticated. I mean, in real life, surely after so many hacks being traced to InterNIC they would be watching it carefully and waiting to catch you?!?!

Anyway, sorry to say it, but there's not much actual sneaking and covert hiding in the game - it's just a bunch of things you click on while pretending it's like hacking. The GCD is just one symptom of how shallow the game is.

Technically, you aren't putting them in jail for anything that you type in except a parole violation. The two crimes are things they've already been convicted for.

Yes, the acedemic database needs to be exact.

When doing the academic missions, though, I change what they want, reply WITHOUT dissconecting, and when I get the money I change it back

I've also gotten guys arrested right after clearing their record. It's fun to mess with people that are trying to gain stuff by breaking the law

I tried to arrest myself once by giving me the following crimes:
Eating pork in a synogoge
Sniffing glue
Dating the Parole officer

It didn't work though. :frown: I never got arrested.

Often times, I like to mention the company that is hiring me in the conviction record. Like:

"DataTek Industries hired a"
"hacker to get this innocent"
"guy arrested by typing"
"'Parole Broken'"

or something like that it's kind of silly. I think a good idea would for the news to actually report the previous convictions, instead of just saying "Computer Crimes", after you convict them for murder.

I enjoy having people talk about experiences in games that are amusing.
I arrested a guy for dating a teacher and eating healthy foods
one other was for farting in church and having a bad haircut
third one was "this man is a priest" "he can tell you definitions" "Parole is a word"
and he was arrested
can you change peoles names?
i wish then i would name all guys "Bob" except one named "Jill"
oh well, one can wish
I did change some people's social security number for fun
do you need those?
and when they give you links like, "Optical corp. mainframe"
do you need to log on to that mainframe from the systems machine to blow it up?how?
or can you just blow it up from the systems machine? (sorry that was random)

While this is off-topic, and I hate to encourage it, and the method of destroying systems is widespread on these forums, here it is. You can't blow up computers... by destroy them, you have to take out all the data on them, and then shut it down, and prevent it from starting back up. I don't want to say exactly how to do it - but if have to access a mainframe , you have to connect to it by routing like this:

Gateway -> InterNIC/Uplink Test Machine whatever -> 13248972378091 bounces -> DataTek Internal Systems Machine -> DataTek Central Mainframe

I don't know if you can use Public Access Servers instead of the Internal Systems Machine. When you connect to the computer, in order to keep it from starting up, you have to delete the operating system. That's all the hints I'm gonna give :x

A LAN is another type of system you can connect to in Uplink. They are labelled as such things as "DataTek Local Area Network". They are puzzles, puzzles that you solve by using very expensive LAN software. Sorry. I'm so used to using the abbreviation.

LAN stands for Local Area Network. You can often find a company's LAN url if you check the links in the Internal Services Machine.
