I haven't gotten an ARC e-mail but they started using the "Faith Progress" and ARC's rival company was already attacked. Will I still be able to get ARC or will I have to start over?

If you didn't backup your user file somewhere earlier, you'll have to start over. You should get the email from the agent about April 14, and you need to Do Something about it within a few days, or the story goes on without you.

It can be a bit of a struggle to be ready by that deadline.

You don't need to actually hack anything for ARC to notice you; just trigger the email from them and wait until you can actually do the mission.

No. I am playing unregistered and therefor can only progress so far... the point being that I have been able to start the storyline. What you need to do is accept a mission from ARC - I think mine was a steal-a-file mission. When I sent them the file I needed to steal, I got the first ARC mission in return, and the Arunmor counter-offer as well.

Yeah, I have a question about one of the Arunmar missions. I'm on the third one, where I have to run revelation on Arunmar's internal services system. They say to copy their's from their file server, so I did. Then I tried to copy it onto their file service, but it wouldn't be dumped into their file folder. And know I can't see Revelation in my Other application folder. Did I do something wrong?

Im not sure exactly what you are saying, so...

Did you have enough space for it? Also, when you were copying it, you might of just forgotten to choose a memory slot.

or

Delete some of their files, then put revelation on their system. They might not have enough room.

Wait, someone said that you don't have to be top ten and that you just have to do a mission for ARC but someone else said you don't have to do missions from them for you to get noticed... help!

I got noticed by attempting to hack their system using the password in the email, and when that didn't work, cracking the password. I don't think you have to =successfully= hack them, just try.

I think that you can get their attention other ways too, but that way worked for me.

OH! I got the e-mail after I did that once... I also lost my gateway and didn't have money to restore it (opps Revelation) but that's irrelevant. I think I also got it when I did that again... But I was always in the top ten, this time I was 11...

i recommend that when you get revelation then hack an Internal Server Machine (or anything) and upload the virus to them, then clean up your logs. So when the feds come after you, you will have revelation for the third mission.

BTW: How come is it when i try to frame the chief tech of Arunmor Co for bank fraud(mission issued by ARC from storyline) it always comes back and says i didn't do the hack? I hacked the right bank, what i did was route through internic and then 5 other servers (not that many servers-i know) and then i just hacked one of their defenses (admin password) so they would notice me, then i made the internic logs point towards the chief director.
I know there is a trick for this because i am the 3rd best agent on uplink's rating.

Description: Using only 3 or 4 bounce points (InterNIC being the first as always), connect to the bank that ARC gave you in the mission statement. Without bypassing any security, enter the password entry and attempt to break the password. Let the trace run until only 7 or 8 seconds remain, and then disconnect. Now quickly connect to InterNIC and enter the log section. Run the log modifier on the bounce log, and change the log so that the 'From' IP is the IP of the Arunmor Technical Director.
As soon as you have done this, delete the Admin Access log and disconnect from InterNIC, then reply to the mail straight away (do not wait for it to appear in the news) to finish the mission.
