    • game suddenly is finished - always!

      hi,

      well ... always after a several amount of time i get a black screen and a message that says that they had been informed by a bigger corporation that i have done some hacking ... but i have done nothing, not even tried to hack a bank! and i always delete logs.
      after that message the game is finished - i have to start with a new user.

      i hope somebody can help ....

      Hmm... Make sure you're using Log_Deleter v.4.0. Also, make sure you're using InterNIC as your first bounce. Delete logs from there.

      But, that may not help. Because I'm having troubles also...

      Take it from me, the 1337 h4x0r. Use InterNIC as a bounce off point and make sure you have LogDeleter4.0. Don't stay too long on one server or let them trace you (duh). Delete logs quickly. Oh, and at InterNIC, don't delete the latest "Connection established from 127.0.0.1" log because then there will be a "Connection terminated from 127.0.0.1" log... pretty obvious if you're a SysAdmin.

      I have a hard time believing that more people don't back up their saves on a regular basis. I get caught all the time, and while it's still frustrating, it's an easier way of learning.

      Although you might want to delete the fact that you've got admin access... that might be a bit of a red flag to a tracer.
      If they show you having accessed from an address and having left, all they can really assume is that you were browsing. (Logically, anyway.)

      pff ... i tried again, and immediately after every action i deleted the according logs in internic. and what happens? black screen, you have been caught etc .... and yes, i use logdeleter v4, i never get traced ... 😞

      any idea? is it possible that this is a bug?

      I got the same message in one of my games. Of course it was probably because it happened a few days after I hacked into ARC & Arunmor and destroyed both their mainframes to see if it would prevent the storyline from even starting in that file.

      Well, actualy it's MUCH different from a game with save game features, because Uplink doesn't HAVE any save game features. I would assume they left it out on purpose for increased realism.
