    • Character creation won't work

      this is horrible!

      Hi everyone.

I need help, you see I created myself a few races (named them traits) and a few classes. In the main event, I added a "call event" action, which calls another one which checks the class and then sets the portrait, character graphic and stats for that class. In the end of the event, it calls another event which checks the trait and adds what should be added. Now, it doesn't work. I click "new game" in the main menu, then I pick my class and trait and it returns to the menu. If I click "new game" once more, the screen just turns black (I can still create my character, but after I'm done nothing more happens). The game have worked, before I decided to put classes and stuff in. I would provide you with the events, but I cannot seem to connect to the server. If anyone need them, just let me know and I'll email them to you (they're only 8 KB).

      Thank you in advance,
      Me

    • From what you have described, it sounds like you're missing a step somewhere. After the class and trait are selected, don't you need an event to teleport the player to the first map?

    • smacks forehead silly me! Thank you, RD

Nevermind, then 😛 next time I'll check better

    • You might have problems anyway. I find the main.cet to be very, very picky. I tried to define stats; didn't work right. I even discovered that main.cet doesn't like to teleport to a map location, but only to a main location. In teleporting to a map location, sometimes the game interface would come up and the dialogues would work, and sometimes they didn't. I tried everything under the sun to fix it, including changing the graphic specs, but nothing worked until I placed in my beginning exposition that runs in main locations. So the main.cet now teleports to a main location. Then it all seemed to stabilize. But, then, that's my game. Hope it doesn't happen to you.

    • It works flawlessly, all my main.cet event does is give the player 50 silver coins and then call the "classes" event. Never had any trouble with that event, anyway...

    • I'm relieved for you. Really. I'm glad it worked out.
