    • Switching animation folder

Hi. I need help again ;O

Is there a way to switch the folder from wich an animation gets its data? I've changed name from a folder called "PC_Hero1" to "PC_Human1" to have a better oversight of the things in my game. Ofcourse it doesn't find the pictures, so is there any way to switch the folder or do I have to remake the animation in coldstone?

      Thanks

    • Only if the animation is in the same folder as the animations frames that it uses. Otherwise I don't think there is a way without rebuilding the ainmation.

Thanks, they are in the same folder. Would you mind telling me what to do? 😛

First change the folder name. Copy the folder name. Then open the animation in the text editor. Use the find feature and have it search for the previous folder name and replace it with the new folder name.

    • If you want to begin with Human, then in the options window, I think under misc., you can identify where your hero comes from at the beginning of the game.

Otherwise, no. (edit: unless Graham's advise works! :))

You're aware, I hope, that you can open an animation window to build a new animation, then click OUTSIDE of Coldstone, (to Finder,) into the desktop folder where the animation pics are, and DRAG the pics into the Coldstone animation window. It saves a lot of time.

    • Graham's solution doesn't work. Tried doing it in both BBedit and text edit but it just messes up the file (can still use it in-game, but hero is invisible, hehe). I'll just have to recreate the animation then.

I am aware of that, yes. But still, it would have saved more time if I didn't have to redo the animation;P.

      Thanks anyway

Darn, I though it should work. I do that a lot with locations and have no problem. I figured that animations wouldn't be any different.

    • Maybe I'm wrong but it also happened to me to move pics from a folder to another... I take the previous animation, I use the "tool" : "path replace" and change the location of all pics (use "change in all animations"), then I save this animation with a new name in the folder with the new pics...
You can also use this method to change the name of the character you want to appear in the animation... It's a kind of a very fast "import" of pics in the animation, instead of calling them up one by one...
