    • Weird animation problems


      Well, this is my problem:

      I am working on a character animation, almost done. I am adding the animation for casting/using BUT... I've only added 2 direction animation and when I add the third, the other frames get moved to different places causing the animation to look weird (images flying around)... any solution?

    • I believe that you need either 8 or 4 directions, not 2 or 3. I suspect that it's a problem, not with the graphics, but how you've set it up in the animation window. That's all I can think of with this information. Hope it helps.

    • Well, it's not quite clear what you are asking. But let me give it a shot. Try adding all your animations BEFORE checking the boxes and moving them in the animation viewer. Then be sure to do it in order. It's also a good idea to check every box. I know that if you have two frames checked with several frames in between, and the second frame is in a different position than the first, the frames in between will automatically be set to gradually move until they are to the position of the other one.
      Here's what I mean:

      Now I don't know if that's what you mean, though. If that's not it, check your image formats.

    • Yes, placing the animation in order in the first place, then checking from top to bottom, placing the loops and markers from top to bottom is needed to make a bug-free animation!! (Number one rule: make Coldstone happy!)

    • UGH! It didn't work now either:'( I did just as you told me, first placed all frames then positioned them. I played the animation and all was fine. Then I saved the file and tested it in-game. THEN all frames got screwed up! Flying around like a wounded bird :frown: Do nobody have any idea why this is happening to me???

    • I would have to have your graphics and your animation file to see. Your map and location would be good, too. I wouldn't be able to get to it until next week, though.

      (edit) If you could sent it to me as a .sit file today before 4:00 p.m. Eastern, that would be great. I can't guarantee anything, but I've been successful in helping people this way in the past. If you don't want me to look at it, that's okay.

    • I'm glad you fixed it, Ledorax. I suspect that to fix it, you had to adjust every graphic in the animation window. When you make an animation graphic, it's a good idea to have every frame in the same position. That's what I like about Snapz Pro - it helps you do that as well as saving it in the format you want without needing to save the file from the app or export the file as something else.

      It's also a good idea to think in terms of highlights when you make graphics. Think in terms of backlighting. This makes the graphic stand out more against a dark background.
