    • CRC Magazine Issue 1

I have put the cover for Issue 1 of the CRC Magazine on the CRC website. You can have a look if you want.
The whole magazine should be available on Monday.

Cheesiest film line of all time "Flash I love you but we only have 14 hours to save the earth" from Flash Gorden

    • There is a huge space in between the main headline and the words underneath it. I think that you should put something there. Perhaps (if you or someone else could manage) a picture of the Coldstone icon under a magnifying glass? Hey, maybe I could create it!

      Also, "Chronicles" is spelled wrong.

EDIT: Guess that "Chronicals" could be the British spelling.

If UPS and Fed-Ex merged, would they be Fed-Up?
A man who's out to save Gidolan Keep, flies an Auroran ship, and hacks into computers to keep the bricks from falling past the line of destiny? Yep, that's me!

(This message has been edited by Thunderforge (edited 10-18-2003).)

    • As Thunderforge said, the space is a bit much. I'd actually put a screenshot or two of work in Coldstone, perhaps a Map Editor & an Animation editor shot (as they look the coolest ;)) to fill out the blank space.

Secondly, yep, chronicle is spelt chronicle, no matter where in the world you're from. And, on this topic, False Dawn: Hyperspace wasn't the first chronicle released, either. It was, in fact, the forty fifth odd chronicle released, it's just that the board doesn't display them all anymore. The first chronicle released was (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum49/HTML/000002.html")Early History of Tenova(/url). In order to get access to chronicles no longer on the list, just change the url to reflect the number, ie: change 000002 to 000003 to see the third chronicle.

And lastly, did you check for permission before including chronicles? If not, I'd recommend you do so, in case the author doesn't want their work included.

    • Ah, critiquing (yea, probably spelled wrong). Just to be positive, besides the mentioned issues, it looks great! 😄

    • Well I'm proof reading it today and making the final changes.

I did ask permission to display the chronicle.
Instead of saying "The first of the Coldstone Chronicles" do you reckon I should change it to "The first in our series of the Coldstone Chronicles"?

    • " The first in our series of the Coldstone Chronicles " will work and is not too awkward. I suggest a line, "Printed with permission of the author, John Doe " would also be appropriate.

Another suggestion would be to run all your text through a spell-checker if you have not engaged the services of a good proof-reader. This will not catch all errors or typos (such as using "here" instead of "hear" or "your" instead of "you're") but it is a good place to start. Rather than re-typing, just copy/paste to a text file which has spell checking and then correct any errors found.

I know you have put a lot of work into this and you want it to look "professional," so please take all of the above remarks (mine and others) as constructive rather than critical. I wish you success with the first and subsequent issues. ~RD
