I am sure that the beginning scene with the hero passing out is just an animation since it happens before you are able to move anywhere. The whole first scene is scripted until the hero wakes up after a night at the Ookwasp Inn.

The (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/rduck/")Kingdom of Garendall(/url) sectional map is easily printed from gif format pages.

    • I am sure you are right, but how do I add MY character fainting out there? =/

If this is for a plugin, are you making the hero another class and changing his appearance? If that is the case, then it doesn't seem too hard to do.

The only characters in that scene are a Royal Guardsman and Anabellor (sp?) the Innkeeper. Through NPC control you have to delete all since you don't know the names of the PoG NPCs (unless you get very lucky with your guesses). Then you make a fake Innkeeper, fake Royal Guard and a hero picture which is pure white to make him invisible. Place the Guard where the other stood, freeze the invisible hero so that the player can't wander off somewhere and place an animated stamp of your new guy falling down. The last frame of the animation calls a dialogue event: "Come quickly, this new guy just bit the dust!" Then NPC control places the innkeeper north of the gate programmed to reach the tile just above the animation. When the tile is reached, fade out. Fade in with NPCs restored and hero changed to his new look, map position in front of the Inn.

Edit: I just thought of an obsticle you are going to have to get around. You are going to need a way to eliminate the scene which is built into PoG and run your's instead. I don't know how to do that. Unless perhaps your animation stamp will cover it up?
