I know this may be a stupid question but what are stamps?
Everyone seems to talk about them.
The only reference I can find in the manual is the bit about the "Activate stamp snap" option. I have searched the boards and can't find anything as well? :frown:

A stamp is a picture/graphic/animation that can be placed onto a map and/or removed at any time. Kind of like a stamp on an envelope. 
Basically, if you want scenery to change on your map(say a tree falling, or a house to burn down, etc) then you can either make many maps that all look the same with minor variances, or you can create stamps to place over top your map to alter it.

The trees, rocks, houses, etc. are all stamps but they are not identified as such unless you are constructing a plugin and want to add a tree to an existing map. The smoke rising out of a chimney is an animated stamp.
