    • Back up and running, who's ready for tron?

      hey guys, i'm back up and running with my G3 running in sweet sweet os 9.2
      sooo, now that coldstone's working for me, i'm planning on creating an game based around the tron movie and storyline.
      i'm guessing there could be some copywrite issues on this one, but if i just but all of the copyright info on the game itself, would it still be a problem?

      Well, I m not an expert here but technically yes... The copyright is compulsory but has a value only if you have been authorized by their owner(s) to use it... just putting a copyright is not enough I think... however, as someone already said (can't remember who), big companies have other things to do than chasing guys like us... Unless you re expecting your game to be very very popular and make profit with it, it should be ok... but not really legal...

      i believe that The Walt Disney Corporation holds the rights to the movie Tron, so you would have to purchase the rights to make any Tron related game, or at the very least enquire in writing about liscensing (even if it is just shareware). Also Tron 2.0 is in the works (I believe it is a game) and there might be another movie in the works too.

      I'm glad that you have managed to get Coldstone working.

      what aspectsof tron would you like to see turned into a coldstone game and maybe we could come up with a original game instead?

      The light-cycles. Duh. 😛

      Maybe build a game where the cycle racing is a background thing, like the racing in 2 Fast 2 Furious was a background to the rest of the story.
