Besides PoG and Cosmic Memory, has anyone actually ever made and released a game made with Coldstone?
------------------
The box said Windows 95 or greater...so why doesn't it work on a Mac?
A big problem for some right now is that QT movies and MP3 playing does not work on win98/ME and we have no idea when and if and how Ambrosia/Beenox is going to solve it. But they might be close to a solution since RealBasic must have solved some compiling problems in release 5.2 (according to Real Basic).

Klatu has completed "Kit's ABC Adventure" as a stand alone game and it's well done. Stark Bledfast is not the only one to complete a quest-oriented plugin for PoG. "Sapphire" has been out for a long time, and CHa0s produced "World of CHa0s" and a 20+ megabite plugin "Damsels in Distress" was released a week ago.

I beg your pardon, but he didn't ask about the problems, he asked about the success. This has had much exposure in its own thread. Could we please keep it there. I understand your frustration, but for some of us Coldstone is working. Let's keep this thread positive. ~RD

weighing in at a rotund 77 mb or so "7th Quest" was on a Hotline server for a while about a month or so after coldstone was released. I was curious as to how a game so bigg coulda been built so soon (I was still tryin to get a timer script in coldstone back then) upon D/L I found the Ripped Graphics, Music, and Story line to be too much for me to wade through past the first 5 to 10 screens (which were PoG tiles and BGs with the Ripped Gfx dispensed on screen) but it was the music that got to me most.
try HotLine if you still seek to exp. "7th Quest" and good luck.

The question here was has anything been made and released and I suspect that some of the games mentioned above have not been released yet.

Out of curiosity, ripped graphics/music from what? All I see in the screenshots are graphics from the Coldstone Art Lib, which would hardly qualify as ripped.

If you can tell me where to download it, I might. I'm not very familiar with the use of Hotline, I'm afraid.

True they're not really ripped, but what a colossal waste of time to download, If that's the route you're going to go, you might as well just use an IF/Text Engine because that's about aall your contributing to the experience, Frankly i wish they never included the library. I'd much rather see "dyslectic" stick figures , than constantly be bombarded by visual monotonous game after game.
Beyond that, no matter how good your story is it makes it hard for it to be an original experience when 1/2 of the formula are recycled post-consumer material.

Well, OK then.
/me throws away his current project folder.
Glad we got that straightened out before I wasted any more of my time making a visually monotonous, recycled game.

If it was a rhetoric question:
That's an extremely pessimistic way of looking at it. Its like saying that people can't write good stories until they're a published author.
If it was a serious question:
The answer, excluding Cosmic Memory and PoG, and also excluding all PoG plugins made by the coldstone community (which is an unfairly narrow margin, may I bitterly add), is, to my knowledge, no. The problem is, that only the benevolent Ambrosia Software would give coldstone-made games a chance. Not to say that our games are not well-made, fun to play, interesting, creative and original. The problem, I believe, is the fact that with consoles like the XBox out, consoles that are so pointlessly realistic that people can actually forget that they're playing a game at all and just totally hand over their lives and wallets to XBox gaming, there isn't much room for mac-made isometrics on the market.
I stress, however, the words, ON THE MARKET. We game-makers cant forget that about five years ago, there would've been great opportunities for guys like us. Now we're making games that would've stunned those SNES gamers. We cant forget that the market is a ravenous mosh pit of starved console-craving slugs.
And with that, I close my energetic, and slightly estranged preaching.
I hope I answered your question.
