    • My game won't start up, it just want to test the first part


      i am figuring this out, and when i set it to launch this application would be made, but it won't start, it'll just go off right away. what do i need for it to actually work?

      I switched the startup screen with the start load quit options and made the buttons supposedly work, and i started on a location/map, but i don't think i've linked it to be the start of the game yet or anything.

      I used the medeival set. i have OSX.2

      whats wrong? o_o

    • I'm having a hard time understanding what you just wrote, but are you trying to build/launch a game? I think I remember someone posting about having problems with that, try building a release, then closing Coldstoen and starting the game.
      if that fails, try looking (url="http://"http://coldroom.150m.com/CGE_Stuff/CGE_Tips.html#Q25")here(/url). this is the bare minimum game structure that is needed for your game to run.

    • Go through the game minumum checklist, making sure everything is there, then read Mr. Bledfast's Debugging 101, and try to be a bit more descriptive if it still doesn't work after you have done those things, it's hard to troubleshoot nothing 🙂

    • i started over with the medeival set on and now it will load. i can quit. i tried that. it works.

      now my problem is that when i try to start a game, i can select my name, and then class, and as i click OK for the class selection, it freezes and I must force quit.

      can you tell me where the event and or location i have to mess with is to get this to work? the thing that comes into play at this stage? i have been looking and i cannot find it, or at least, i do not know that it is what i seek.
      sorry if i'm not specific enough >_<;;

      The event should be called main.

    • the main part looks to be alright, unless i don't understand the teleport parts, why are there two teleports, one in the linked action and one in the main sequence.
      my intended map to start the gameplay is called "entrance.clo", and i put the coordinated where i wanted them to be.
      i put the linked and main sequence part so they're exactly the same too, both to Entrance =/

    • I am having the same problem. I ran CS in 9.2 and 10.2 going through the "Bare Minimum Structure". When I hit run, the game compiles, I get my loading graphic, then the game crashes with a type 3 error. This occurs in both OS's.

    • well, in my problem i can select my class, then i press OK(and there are no other dialogs selected, and this happened when i had another dialog selected AFTER that dialog, so i know the problem is AFTER the dialogs) and then it gets the growing boxes, like a window opening, but no window comes and it freezes XP

    • Well...Send it over and I'll try to debug it. My email is cha0s@evula.org. I don't see anything immediately wrong, but it seems that your "Main" event has problems (bad map name, etc.?). Also, another thought, do you have interface graphics? If you have an interface (the use interface on this map button checked in the location section) but no graphics, this might crash it. Anyway, if you'd like, send it over and I'll see what I can do.

    • OK.... I think I figured it out. Under the Misc. tab in the game options,
      I increased the memory to 20000 and everything seemed to work fine then
      following the "Bare Minimum Game Structure".

      BTW, whomever wrote the BMGS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
