hey so I made a new screen, with a button for start, load, or quit game, but how do I get CS to recognize that my screen is the right one instead of theirs?
Also, is Poser 5 compatible?
Thanks

You need to make a location for the main screen. If you are using the Medievil template, it's in the location folder, called Startup Screen.clo
Poser 5 is PC only at the moment, unless they released it today. The rendered images, not the models themselves work perfectly with Coldstone. There was a post recently outlining a method of using Poser to create characters for a game.

yeah I made a location and all, and after a long search found the event...
Enginge Call: New Game
Teleport->Startup Screen
and so I switched it to teleport to my screen, but it crashes everytime I try to play my game
------------------
If you are using the template, and changing the names, they have to be exactly the same, or Coldstone won't be able to find your new pic.

so does my screen need to be named Startup Screen? or just that my location needs to have the same name as my screen, because I already did thato
------------------
I'm assuming, from your previous post, that you are using the template, because you said that you wanted to show you startup screen instead of theirs. If this is the case, then yes, you will need to name the picture file exactly the same as the one in the template, thus overwriting it.

This still isn't working... I'll tell you what I did:
1. Created a picture, with the words: Start New Game, Load Game, Quit Game
2. Created new location with exactly the same name as my pic (PICT) and linked each of the words to the appropriate events
3. Went to the event: Start New Game and changed the Teleport to go to my location
::crash::
4. Changed the name of my location to Startup Screen.clo and the name of my pic to Startup Screen.pict
::crash::
It still doesn't work
Sorry guys, I must be missing something
------------------
Did you delete the original Startup Screen.pct? Because you had the name as *.pict, and I'm not sure whether .pct and .pict are recognized as replacing each other in Mac OS. If they aren't, that would cause a problem. other than that, I'm stumped.

A tomb now suffices for him for whom the world was not enough.
they don't replace the other...MacOs works on (types/creators and) exact spelling when it comes to replacing a file...which is why you can tag on the extension ".eLL" to a pict file and as long as you don't transmit it with that extension (which would likely cause the type/creator to revert to '???') it will open and be list ed by kind as a PICT file.
CGE which plots resources,graphics,sound etc. by name depends on exact spelling...but i'm sure putting a ".png" extension on a ".jpg" file will cause confusion/an error somewhere within the CGEngine.
succinct: The name must be exact.
