    • animated portraits..?

I m actually working at creating portraits and i figured out that it would be really nice to have animated portraits even if the animations are basic 🙂
however, the only way to have animated portraits is to use quicktime video along with a dialog event... (for dialog event one can choose a picture -> static or a quicktime video...) however, the pbm with the video is that there is no transparency... gosh... so there is a big and ugly white square around my portrait... so:
      - is there a way to make a video with transparency...?
      - or, is there another way to make animated portrait?
I already tried to make the animation directly in Coldstone itself, place it in the Evnet/Pics/ folder but it doesn't appear, I think a picture in pict or png format is required only... I havnt tried but would it work with a gif animation?
      any other idea?

    • I think you should put that animation to Portraits folder, not event/pics.

    • We're using little animated portraits, but we're not seeing a white square. Are you saying you don't want to include a background in your animations, but just have the characters standing there by themselves? If so, this can be done with a mask. Create a pict file of a silhouette of your character, black on a white background. In QT, select "get movie properties" under the movie menu. In the new window, choose "video track" from the left pop up menu and "mask" from the right. Select your mask pict. This makes your movie the shape of the mask instead of the standard square shape, so all you have are you characters, no background.
