    • Using Ground Tools

Hi. I'm having a difficult time trying to use the ground tools feature. I've done what it said to do in the manual, selected the animation file in the TOOLS folder, but all it does is paint a plain tile without painting the transition tiles. I've tried using it in "ground mode" and in a layer with no success. If anyone could help me out and let me know what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

    • Yep, I've had the same experience. Figured it was just me....

      Mr. Outlandish,

Quick question: have you created any ground tools yet?

    • I haven't actually created any from scratch, I've just tried using the three provided in the TOOLS folder. I guess it's possible they don't work, or that I need to do something special to them. Maybe I'll try and build my own if I get a chance.

    • They work for me. The big "gotcha" with tools is that they must be drawn on top of an existing background of the appropriate tile (that is, the one being "transitioned" to) in order to work. Thus, all three of the tools included with the Medieval template only work when used (in ground mode) to draw over a background of Grass001.pct tiles (in the Forest_Base folder). If the tiles being drawn on/near are a different tile, no transitions will be added.

Try this, and if it still doesn't resolve your problem, please let us know!

      I don't know what I'm talking about.
Oh no, here comes another learning experience.

    • Thanks for the help. I had thought that I was trying it over a grass tile, but it was simply the wrong one. Glad that feature works. It's pretty cool.
