Why isn't there a 2nd person? Is if ur seeing behind da person 1st or 3rd?

Created in the Future by M e t a -Knight in his old age. I was sent to the future to undo the justice Kirby had preformed apon Popstar. I then found a Chao. I named it champ. He acompanied me on my quest. He then had a son named Champ Jr. so the Saga continues.

    • 1st person is when you see what the character sees. 3rd person is when you see behind them. This is a good question, and I'm not sure id there is a 2nd person or not. I think I once heard that 2nd poerson was a view from another person but I can't remember...

Here'sa list of persons and their definitions:

1st Person: In a game, the point of view in which the camera is positioned where the character's eyes are. Extremely popular in shooters, such as Unreal Tournament or Halo.

2nd Person: Based on the definition in writing, a 2nd person game would be where you play the role of the main character—but look through the eyes of a different character. Kind of hard/pointless to make a 2nd-person game.

3rd Person: Where your point of view is positioned behind and a little above of the protagonist. Examples are Oni, Harry Potter, and just about every 3D game from Pangea Software.

While I'm glad you're back, this is not the forum to be posting topics like this. Go to Ambrosia Banter or Just Chat for this kind of stuff.

Okay... Let me explain in literature.

      1st person:
I walked to the door and opened it.

      3rd person:
He walked to the door and opened it.

      2nd person:
You walked to the door and opened it.

      Now, in games:

      1st person: Ever played Doom?

3rd person: Bird's eye, isometric, behind the back, platform, etc.

2nd person: ... You have any good ideas? The closest I can think of is a completely immersive virtual reality set. And to stave off the inevitable reply, no, you can't make that with ColdStone, and Dee will beat you with a salami if you ask him to include it.

It's off topic, but I love that game. It's what I'm going to base my game on 🙂

    • I was wondering, what would a game like starcraft/warcraft/age of empires be called? I'm thinking 3rd person, but you're more than one person...so what catagory does that fall under?

Have you ever noticed how people say something is smart only when it acts like something else?
People say cats are smart when they act like dogs, or when they act like humans. Can't things be smart in their OWN way?

    • 3rd person. Could a moderator please lock, or move, this topic?
