    • Can Coldstone multidisk games? Dialog question?


      Hi. I just had a thought while I was writing the script for my game. What happens if your complete game will not fit on one cd. Is there an option built-in so that coldstone could prompt you to insert (switch) cds?

      Also is it possible to have the npc say one set of dialogue until a certain task were accomplished, then say something different? The particular event I'm thinking of would have the guards not allow them enterance to the Naga caverns until they have the mayor's permission. The only problem is that the mayor is located at the dragon shrine, but he is only there after they have spoken to the guards Guards outside the naga cavern and the people in his mansion. Is creating something like this possible.

      I must admit I have yet to work with coldstone very much while I'm writing my script, but as I'm writing some of these questions pop into my head.

      Well, I don't know how I know this, but you can set a global for the task, set it to 1 when the task is done, and in the event for them saying something different you would say "If (global) is set to 1" and they will say the other thing. Hope I helped there 🙂

    • you can always split your game in 2 parts, and have the second part load the saved game of the first part, you can even make an apple script to change the saved game to a new location or whatever

      set your game to use plug ins tell it to import them without asking
      at the end of disc1 make and event. set it up so that your stats, and other information get grafted into a global variable when the section ends the event fires and records all the data/and or make a special save game event that does the same
      make a plug in that imports the GB's from the first
      and you should have modular/multi disk game play.
