I'm currently developing a plug-in for POG(a second one actually... primary one is on hold til the update is released, which apparantly is soon. Woo hoo!) and I've hit an obstacle on paper that while I haven't yet attempted to overcome with CGE, I can't off the top of my head think how to do it. So any suggestions would be welcome.
What I wish to do is similar to the ranger shapeshifting skill, in that I want to switch the character's graphic. However, this shift I intend to be permaneant. I would like it if the player can keep his class and be able to still utilize his skills(rangers make potions, conjurors cast spells), but I don't want the ranger character to be able to make a shapeshifting potion(or quaff a potion already in their inventory) to shift out of the
body I intend to put them in.
So my question is, is there a way to make it so that the ranger character can not use his skill to make shapeshifting potions, or better yet, make it so that existing potions will have no effect? Either by changing the item itself(which as I understand it, will be impossible), or by making an event that if they quaff the shape shifting potion(of which there are only 3 to my knowledge) a box just pops up and says, "You quaff the potion and begin to tingle, when all of a sudden the plug-in designer folds through time, slips behind you, and initiates the heimlich manuever until you cough up the potion." Well, ok, you get the idea..
The alternative I suppose would be to change the players class so that they couldn't create any more potions(which would also mean that conjurors couldn't cast spells either). But this wouldn't solve the problem if they still had potions in their inventory...
Anyhow I hope theire is a solution to this. If anyone knows off the top of their head or thinks they know of a workaround, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks
