    • master map???

Just started with coldstone after finnishing POG.
I get the concept of map tiles but what about which goes where. Is there a master map? I can't quite crack this one. How do you lay out all the tiles?
It is not just one BIG tile right?
      😕

      Mr. Ejacob,

You are correct in that POG is not just one big tile. What you have is a tile for each area, and then you link them together. The big map that you see when you look at the Kingdom map is simply a picture. Someone took small map previews, I assume, and pasted them together to form a large picture so that you can see the whole world at once, but this was probably done in some paint program.

As to the layout, you do that on your own. In the CS editor there is a menu to select a maps borders: North, East, South, and West. As you select borders you are building your world. But it is best to have it on paper, because you can't pull up a master map which shows how everything is linked together(at least, not to my knowledge). You need to have it all planned out and then do it.

      Make sense?

    • yes it makes sense BUT where/what is this menu?

I see lots of things to do to the map but set it's borders.

Thanks for the quick reply & help.

      Mr. Ejacob,

The menu is not in the map editor. The map editor is for creating a map, but that is all this editor does. You need to make the map into a location. Basically you do the following:

      • Open up the map editor and create a map. Name the map, for example, map1

      • Open up the location editor and create a new location. Make it type map. Name it with the exact name as your map. So in the above example you would name it map1

      • In the location editor under your new location, map1, you can select a tab that will let you select the borders. I don't have my manual in front of me and I don't recall the name of the tab, but I believe there are only 2 tabs in the location menu so it should be easy to find. There will be 4 buttons, 1 for each border(North/South/East/West). Click on a border button and you can select which map you want to border it from the list of maps you have already created.

Once this is done your map is linked.

      Does that make sense?
