Hello and greetings all,
I've just recently received my CD and am trying to get going on a game. I've encountered a few problems, some of which I'm emailing Ambrosia about already, but I'd love to hear the community's thoughts:
1. When I select the "Medieval" type game to create, it creates the exact same game as the "Tutorial," with exactly the same files, premade maps, etc. Yuck! I thought maybe I'd get a blank game with access to all the art and characters... what gives? Are the "Tutorial" choice and the "Medieval" choice really supposed to be identical?
2. What's the best way, then, to make a game and have all of the art and characters available for browsing as you are creating your maps? I've tried having all of the art in a folder and then creating aliases to those folders in my game's picture folders, but that doesn't work. Do I really need to copy in place ALL of the art if I want to be able to see it/try it out as I make my maps?
3. Even after I've entered my code, I get the "Register" messages and the demo-delay. I've written Ambrosia about this, of course, but I'm wondering if someone else had encountered it and had solved it? I'm using OSX, but running the 9 version (under classic) because it seems smoother. I've tried trashing all existing Coldstone preference files/license files and restarting... it will ask me for the license number, I enter it again, but no go... it still doesn't "take".
