I cant seem to interlock things in a plug-in for PoG. There is this one thing where I want to make an guy that teleports you to this one mercant I want to add. Well I made the Mercant and the action to take you to it. What I want them to have to do is kill this one guy then they get transported but how do I place the guy. I want to place him In that one cave right outside Fermata(sp?). I also Dont get how to place the mercant. It's like when I make the plugin the only game files I access are the graphics. :frown:

    • I think you would set up the transportation as a linked event, and edit the dialogue to cause it (it should show available linked actions, just select it from the list) as a result of picking a specific response.

Try it and see if it works.

Lots of luck, we're all here to learn anyway.

    • I am not understanding you at all. I still want to know how to place a guy in an already existing map. If I knew how to do that I would set it so his death gave you an object that when it is used you transport. How do I do that. I'v already crerated the NPC but dont know how to place it. Thats what im stressing here. I'm sory If I sound angry but I always sound this way and im a little stressed out because im excited about what cold stone can do but I cant figure out how to realy use it. So please excuse me.

Says here in the .pdf that you select "Character" mode in the map editor, and you should get a pop-up menu of available NPCs. You then add them with the pencil tool.

I seem to recall trying it out on the included "medieval" demo game and having no real problem.

Do you have a graphic/animation for that character? It might help.

    • Well you see I knew that, but then how do I place that map into the PoG world? I also want to place it in an existing map.

I think I'm getting it. Take a look at pg. 3 of the Plugin Tutorial .pdf (included on the Coldstone download). If I understand what it is saying correctly, you can not directly edit a map with a plug-in. Instead you need to create a new EVENT, calling the action "NPC Control", to add the NPC to a location on a map specified in the Plug-in pop-up.

Assuming your files are in order, and you are in plug-in mode for PoG, try creating a new event, adding "NPC control" to the list, and looking at the menu options you are given.

    • OK. Are the coordinates they ask you to give for what map it is in or for where in a map the NPC is to appear.

      **

Where you are placing the NPC. Before you activate the event the NPC won't "be" anywhere. Which means opening up the map, rolling your mouse over to where you want the NPC and scribbling down the X,Y (displayed for you at the bottom of the map editor).

    • OK, here is the scoop:
      1. Do the plug-in tutorial that came with the demo.
      2. Try to understand the plug-in tutorial that came with the demo.
      3. If you are still having problems, then I will help. 🙂

I don't want to sound mean, but this exact problem is basically the point of the only tutorial that came with the demo; which tells me that you didn't do your HW before asking.
