    • Icons & Plugins

Here's a couple of totally unrelated questions, if anyone knows I'd be grateful ๐Ÿ™‚

1)- When Coldstone compiles a game, I'm assuming that it includes a generic application & data file icon. Now this question is in two parts, firstly, are these generic icons MacOS X ready, ie: 128x128, and two, is there any way to edit them within the actual app itself, or will we require an icon editor etc. I know that Coldstone isn't a graphics editor so this is unlikely, but I haven't heard either way, so....

2)-Plugins. This one is about plugins. I recall a question a few months ago about them, and I am seeking verification of my shaky memory. It's been stated repeatedly that all that must be done to support plugins in a game is to check a box in a preferences dialogue. But I remember reading somewhere that there is an option to password-protect this plugin ability, so that if you make a game and someone wishes to make a plugin for it, you have the ability to refuse or grant their wishes without having to recompile the game. I'd guess this is both so that the creators keep control of their world, and to prevent irritating things such as the cheater plugs which plague EV & EV:Override. Am I right in remembering this, or have I been hallucinating more then usual recently?

      Thanks.

No, you'll have to build the icons yourself. Coldstone assigns a generic application icon when it builds it's programmes.

I can't quite remember, but I think password protection isn't allowed. You'll have to put up with all the cheater plugs and stuff. Someone with the beta correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I seriously hope there is some form of protection to keep people from just hacking your game as they wish.

    • Well, you can disable plug-in support, but if you want plug-ins yourself, i don't think there's anyway of protecting it from other people making plugs.
