Here's my true to life idea...and you can't stop me....

I am preparing to make an RPG based upon the peopple of the WebBoard,
those with negative Karma (myself included) will be foes and such, And may or may not occupy certain realms
(real or fantasy locations, depending on your profile)
Abilities and whatnot are based upon what you have demonstrated on the boards, HP of said foes(can hopefully) be determined
by a formula that way the stronger you get the stronger (in lesser proportion) the foe is.
Those with positive karmas may in fact be aids in the crusade against the bad...however the actual
hero will be completely fictional in the fact that the player will assume the role of a Newbie (like on the board).
any one who has posted with they're real name will not appear in the game , only people who strictly go by their
board avatar . These "personas" will probably also bear different names.
Those who have fell out of contact with the board (such as DesertFox & theWalrus), might appear on sidequests or as hidden bosses(DeathHimself , and a special one 2 be revealed later on in the development).

On the other hand a normal RPG might be released, where in the personas can just be summoned , or encountered through out the game sort of tipping the hat to those who've been here since the beginning(and some new comers too)

**note: All signs point to this being a freeware release a...labor of love. This idea sprung out of the now currently improbable
idea of having online tourney-based arena combat, between Players with independent (portable) statistics...

It'll be tasteful all sword and mayhem, ...but of course I'll have the coolest entrance ...

Heh, Chill, believe it or not, but this is probably the most exciting idea I've heard in a while. If time allows, I would even be interested in helping you with it, with your permission of course. There are so many ways you could go with it - some are constantly cheery, others spark farce and satire, some cause misery and strife, and the rest are do-gooders. You can make it serious or seriously insane. Linear or an odd world brimming with life and unparalleled freedom.

Even in its anonymity, it is vaguely familiar, and will no doubt make vets smile. I can just see people quoting former posts and bringing up heated debates. "Would you like to join my party?" "Don't bring up parties idiot, it's the seventh cardinal sin. Don't make me get my karma stick." When initiating conversation with the Chill's persona, he will begin by initiating himself. "::Cold breeze freezes the tulips:: ::Hushed voices scramble in fright:: ::Enter the Chill::" Sorry bud, I'm not so good at making up entrances. And of course, everyone you talk to will end with their "signature". "Give me your sword before I crush you, ya bloomin' idiot. Saphfire". Ah, a breath of fresh air.

Heh... Not that this would be in any way targeted at... certain people.

Sounds like an interesting idea, though. Make sure you get folks' permission to use their name/identity, though. (Legally, you'd probably be ok not to, but it's still something you should do.)

hi there. excellent idea. I think mouse did something like this for an EV plugin a while back -- but this is far more interesting. could we make our own character graphics for you? well, maybe that's not such a good idea. that would be a lot of effort to make 20 different people's graphic styles work together. I might be interested in doing some graphics work for you though, if this thing pans out (and you're interested in help).

oh hey -- if ya feel the need to fill out your world with some extras, you can toss me in. I used my real name (Jed Mitchell) for the board, but I go as the handle "Sol" in other circles.

That's the thing, I was thinking out a system in which you would be allowed to fight the bosses in any order(the whole game would be run by variables) but then again, the story would suck....for now the final boss is undecided...but one things for sure i'm a hidden boss...who will undoubtedly beat the snot out of you, my attributes will be based off of your stats
(an equation , i'll only get stronger)...so does anyone think that would be a good way to set up the rest of the bosses or should they all have fixed stats ??

Another thing there is no good and bad karma, simply put , but if you do decide to pick a fight with certain entities, prepar for them to fight back, however not everyone is fair game,... i can't have you killing the merchants and beating up the clergy or other important characters (for the storyies sake)

oh and here's how it's going to work submit any character sketches, designs or profiles....or actual renders
(if 3d submit either in a completed 3DMF file, meshwork render, or in a a still shot)
and i'll do my rendition of your character...for best results keep the number of distinguishing marks 2 a minimum, also send me about 3-6 specific spells in order of priority(how much you want your character to have them in the game)
also a list of (b)one(b) set of armaments , meaning the weapon and one "accessory" (you know what i mean) to be included with your character...be forewarned said armaments may fall tender to the PC after defeating you...

Hey also , for the "unique spells" such as summons or other things go ahead and compile your own graphics set of those, make them as efficient as possible, (otherwise i'll have to ship the finished product to Ambrosia on CD !!)

1 last thing is there going to be any kind of award thing for best game around here, there should be( and at least on this game everyone, who participates would win)There's going to be one long credits page for this

Of course, I'm not making the game, but I think it would be much more interesting as a farce, a silly satirical game that doesn't take itself seriously. Just my two cents.
