    • [ANN] -- Pillars of Garendall Preambles

Don your weather-worn adventuring boots, and gather up your courage as you journey into the kingdom of Garendall, where Gidolan Keep lays under seige. Huge monsters, all tooth, claw, and muscle are assaulting the capitol city, threatening to crush the very heart of the kingdom in their malignant grasp.

Introduce yourself to the Kingdom of Garendall through the Pillars of Garendall preambles:

    • First EVN, now this? Getting to be an ugly habit... πŸ˜‰

      Thanks for keeping us interested.

    • There's no text in the pre-ambles. I assume the text has yet to be written?

Mouse: It's all in graphics. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Andrew: Nice, but I was hoping it was a sort of prequel demo game...now that would really keep us interested. Even a tech demo would be nice.

Anyone not frequenting the EVN boards probably didn't catch the meaning of preamble...

    • and for those people, I offer the following definition:

      preˇamˇble; n.
      1. A preliminary statement, especially the introduction to a formal document that serves to explain its purpose.
      2. An introductory occurrence or fact; a preliminary.

Hmm. I didn't even see the usual (INLINE) that normally appears wherever an un-named picture is.
Are the pictures bigger then 80k?

    • Very nice andrew, who did the sketches?

So let me get this straight...

I'm a horseman who's job it is to get word to wayword kingdoms about a group of giant ogres who are almost totally unstoppable? Great  πŸ™‚

      And a couple questions:

      1. In the first page, it says that the queen is re building her empire in the place she calls home. What could she be rebuilding from?

      2. When you're selected by the queen, it's because you're her fastest horseman. And when you get outside, your horse is ready. But when you get ambushed, you have to run as fast as you legs can carry you. Care to explain?

Anyway great job guys. I hope to see this on more Ambrosia games!

Good question. πŸ™‚ I assumed that either 1) your horse got killed in the skirmish with the giants, or 2) you rode it to death (though a good horseman wouldn't do something like that), then kept running on foot. But then, I don't really know any more than you do. πŸ™‚

his loss of the horse was explained in the origional version of that text. though the origional sounded better it was too long so it got trimmed a little. thanks for noticing that -- none of us testers seemed to have...
