Ambrosia will be publishing the Macintosh port of Introversion's critically acclaimed game Uplink, in which you play an Uplink Agent who makes a living by performing jobs for major corporati ons. Your tasks involve hacking into rival computer systems, stealing research data, sabotaging other companies, laundering money, erasing evidence, or framing innocent people.

You use the money you earn to upgrade your computer systems, and to buy new software and tools. As your experience level increases you find more dangerous and profitable missions become available. You can speculate on a fully working stock market (and eve n influence its outcome). You can modify peoples academic or criminal records. You can divert money from bank transfers into your own accounts. You can even take part in the construction of the most deadly computer virus ever designed.

Shade, if you're talking about operating systems, it's for OS 9/X. You'll need OpenGL and around 20 megs of space.

It seems that this new version of Uplink is quite different. From andrew's screenshot, I can spot at least three differences in his version.

1. The Central Medical Database. It did not make an apperance in the PC version of Uplink.
2. The International Stock Market System is not located in New York City. It was always placed there, no matter what, in the PC version of Uplink.
3. There aren't "save" and "load" buttons for the current bounces. I'm pretty sure that something like that will be implemented, and so I am thinking that it is just a nonexistant feature.

4. There aren't the indicators of whether you have an account on a server, and I'd think you'd have to have an account at Uplink ISS and the bank. (unless you can leave Uplink but still have your gateway)

Relax everybody. The screenshot was probably taken in a very early build (pre-beta). The final version will probably be just like it's non-mac cousins.
