    • Sprite size and stuff


      Hello everyone!, PoG is looking really good and I can't wait to start making a game of my own but I have a couple of questions that I hope that someone of you can answer:

      First it has been mentioned that Coldstone will be shipped with a couple of completed monsters/characters sprites, how many will there be?, will there be terrain and buildings also?.

      Is there a limit on sprite size? (max and/or min?)

      Can you switch the sprite of your character/monsters when something happends? (they equip a piece of armor, casts a spell, gets kissed by a princess =P etc etc?.=

    • The graphics library supplied with Coldstone is very comprehensive, it includes many NPC sprites, human and non-human, as well as quite a few terrain tilesets. As Coldstone is still in beta, the final library is not 100% confirmed, but I can assure you it will be large enough to create a game with.

      There are no limitations of sprite size, but it is wise not to have massive sprites (2000 x 2000 +) unless you want the minimum RAM requirement to be quite high.

      There is a special event for changing the player's sprites, but you may need to use more trickery to change an NPC's sprites. It is certainly possible though.
