I should also note that we're hoping this is the last beta version of Coldstone. If all goes well, the next version will be a final candidate... and we all know what comes after that... RELEASE!

You're entering final beta?! Yipee! {calms down} how long does a beta usually take(on other words, how long will this beta take?)?
You can tell me. I won't go into every board just to tell everybody. I can't even use Coldstone until my father gets a new computer(I'll get his, which is PPC).

I cannot predict the future, and I refuse to comment on my speculation about when it will be done. I have been doing this long enough to know it is an extraordinarily bad idea to comment on release dates.

It's not a marketing strategy at all -- it is not stating something that is undecided. If I said to you "the battle system will do X", and because we're still developing it, we decide we no longer want it to do X, you'll complain. You'll say "But you said it would do X!!!!"
I have learned that it is best to only state what you know for an absolute fact, otherwise it will be thrown back in your face if the spec changes during the course of development.

andrew, I am totally with you on the release dates, but I was very giddy to see that this might me the final release, and in that giddyness I had to ask.
