•If I wanted a limit break, atb,trance kind of meter, could I ?

• I I wanted to grant a character special abilities only when another character was present, could I
(FF9: steiner's magic sword, the protect girls ability etc.)

chill, most of this stuff is common sense. I remember that somebody asked "can I travel between worlds in my game?". Think about it, Coldstone is supposed to be a full featured game engine. You CAN do the stuff you see in other RPGs. It might be easier, it might be harder, but you CAN do it. And chill, please stop spamming.

See let me tell ya something. Sure the "Diamond Dust and Knights of the Round" were impressive, the first time. But after 2 or 3 times they get old, and take too long.
I don't think anyone wants to go through a minute and a half of 3D knights slicing some poor green underwater thing, so maybe you can add a handy "skip" feature?

chill: the cheapshots are not neccesary (sp?). just because I got here a little later (Actually, as soon as these boards opened up. Where were you by the way?) it does not mean I am less knowledgable then you.

As for comparing the two interfaces, I am fairly sure they would be similiar because the underlying code has not been rewritten (then again I've only seen the new B1/2). But then again, I am not saying anything for sure, just "fairly sure".

I'm sure that an item that only works on female characters would be perfectly normal. They did a thing in FF5 where this monster only attacked female characters...

There are many items in games that will work only on females or spells that can only be done by females. I personally think it is a great idea and adds more depth to games like this. Anybody remember Charm in FFT? That was cool because it would only work if you did it to a person of the opposite sex

I wanted to put an strategic edge to my game (I'm a fan of othello) .
Such as a casting order :
direct
indirect
restore
etc.

also I wanted to make some rules involving the classes and how they are effected. Which I'm certain can be accomplished, unless... I also wanted to have a passive message pop up on the screeen telling you what and how the opponent has been effected .(I could always just use a sound but that's not tooo useful)

Protect girls, is a noble ability, and so are its many variants.
