I'm digging up this topic because i think that Karma is a very good idea. i just dont think you people are taking it far enough. Smasher and Lorenoth are right; you should incorporate a karma meter into your game and it could be basically, as Lorenoth said, a measure between good and evil. But Supersonic is right too. You should connect the Karma meter with luck, for activities like gambling--odds are for you or against you, and maybe shooting arrows--probability of you hitting your target, and so on. I'm thinking you should connect both reputation with luck to the Karma meter for an outstanding effect. Also, you could incorporate a Karma picker at the beginning of the ame, where you could choose your karma--highest would be that you would, with my suggestion above, be loved by everyone, win almost everygame of chance, but the downside would be that everyone's expectations of you would be MUCH higher than normal--they would want you to kill an extremely strong enemy, when all you have is a puny little sword. The lowest karma setting would be that you would be hated by everyon everywhere, and even nice innocent people would occasionally attack you, and you would have the lowest odds in the game of chance, but people would not look up to you and stare starry-eyed at you and ask you tokill the strongest enemy before you have a weapon that could even HURT it. or you could set your karma to the center, and you would you wouldn't be loved by anyone, but you wouldn't be hated, you would most likely have 50-50 odds in that game of chance, and you would only be expected to kill enemies of a little bit higher level than yours. That would be my advice for all of you who wish to produce the finest game ever made with Coldstone.
Peace out.
