What is the AI in Coldstone like? I don't want a group of idiots running around. Also, can I make NPC's to join the party like in Cythera?

      ------------------
      "Soppy?!?! That's an insult!"
"Life sucks no matter what, why not we all just worship absurdity?"

    • I don't know about the AI. I am fairly sure Dee said you could have people join your party. I would be greaty disappointed (and surprised) if NPCs couldn't join your party.

    • What I'm really hoping for is an ability to set the disposition of enemies. Some should rush you, some should stay back unless there are other enemies attacking, some should turn hostile only if attacked, some should run away once they recieve a certain amount of damage, etc. It'd be pretty cool...

    • In Loathing (the Myth II map editor), you can edit the 'dispositions' of the enemies. Coldstone could easily have a similar feature, because I'm betting that your environment is scriptable, so you can control the 'dispositions' of characters in the game.

    • Does anyone have any confirmation on the disposition issue? It'd be really nice to have enemies with different personalities. If there is a disposition setter, is it something where you would have slides for things like aggressiveness, bravery, etc. or is it something where you set enemies to several predefined personality types? This information could really help my enemy designs. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps out.

    • I think the only people with information to this effect would be Andrew or Dee. Watch the screenshots, every day.

Personally, I think that you can probably create your own dispositions by assigning a script to that disposition that all units under that disposition would follow.

    • There will definetly be preset despositions for you to choose from (there were 7 of them in the old, Beenox-only release), but I'm not sure about editing/creating your own despositions.

    • ok this whole "disposition" thing is great and all, but can anyone tell me if ColdStone will be easier to use than the myth2 editor, cuz I just could not figure that out. Maybe I'm no good at it, but I really want to be able to work with this Coldstone thing. Please someone say I can learn!

      ------------------
      Yeah I'm confused by
      this signature thing...
      Lorenoth? right...

    • Don't worry, ColdStone is very easy to use, but still very powerful and versitile.

    • It's very good to hear that there will be some disposition setting. I know that it can't be good for my karma, but I have to whine a bit...Instead of preset personalities, enemies should have personality values that you can set from 1 to ten, and checkboxes like 0 Will run at --- hp. It'd add for more variety and just be nice in general. Surprise people a bit more, and make it easier to create tough situations that test the player's skill instead of the character's.
