Will Coldstone have a movie editor in it? What if we are using only Coldstone graphics? Could we export them into imovie or something?

A movie editor? No. There is plenty out there that can let you record/edit Quicktime movies. You can then display those Quicktime movies with Coldstone.

    • But will you be able to export Coldstones graphics to movie editors?

    • You can't create graphics within Coldstone, you have to import them from a graphics program. If you want to make QT movies of a game in progress, I believe Ambrosia has a screen capture utility that allows this.

    • What is a good movie production app? Not screen capture, making it from scratch.

    • But doesn't Coldstone have a selection of graphics that come with the editor itself?

    • we are talking about movies, not graphics

    • I was replying to Mark, and my original question was could you export coldstone's graphics into iMovie.

Actually that brings ME to a question:

Could we make animation "cinemas", like when we get to a point in a cave, we hear rumbling then stones fall from the ceiling and block the way you came it. Or like when you arrive in a special area (like with a main enemy) the door behind you slams shut, and your enemy walks towards you. Or something like that.

The graphics are loaded in from external file sources, I believe.

    • Blerg, all these questions, I will try to answer them as best I can. (deep breath)

      1. You won't be able to export graphics from Coldstone becuase Coldstone doesn't create graphics. You will be able to put graphics from the supplied library into iMovie to do what you like with them.
      2. A good movie production application would be iMovie 2 or After Effects. These would be brilliant for post production effects, but if you want to create the movies, then I recomend something like Cinema 4D XL, it's designed for creating 3D animations and movies.
      3. It would be easy to create on screen events like a wall collapsing or a door slamming shut. You would have to create an event that played an animation once, then blocked off the area the wall collapsed over.
