    • Welcome!

Coldstone is a role playing game construction kit that offers unprecedented power and ease of use, allowing you to create professional, stand-alone games that are limited only by your imagination. Unhindered by the complex details that Coldstone handles for you, your fantasy world will spring to life as quickly as you can dream it up.

    • Hmm...never would have seen this one coming 😉

I've been following Coldstone for quite a while now...since May I think...I still haven't gotten around to using it much though

Is this the great cross-platform project that was hinted at a while ago? As far as I know, Beenox was planning on making it for both Mac & Windows...

No, that's a different project... but yes, Coldstone will allow you to make xplat RPGs (though the editor will run only on a Macintosh, the games you create will run on Mac/Windows).

I bought a Venus Fly Trap today. I was going to name it "Republican", but the Fly Trap is benifical to the environment. I'll save that name, one day I might find a plant that eats poor people and minorities.

Why am I not suprised, it was promised, when Beenox still had control of the project, that the editor would be ported to Windows as well as the ability to create games for Mac/Windows.

Hate to break it to you, but Beenox still "...has control of the project". Complete, total control. You're putting up straw-man FUD for no discernably good reason.

It was Beenox's decision for the editor to be only on the Macintosh, primarily because the development tools used to make Coldstone are not up to snuff on the PC side of the fence currently. If this changes, it's highly possible the "party line" will, too.

    • It says on the staff page that Vincent Bherer-Roy is porting it to a Windows platform. Is this just in need of updating, or can the PC market once again begin rejoicing?

This page was updated less then a week ago so no, it doesn't need to be updated =). Vincent is currently working on the cross-platform compiler (for the windows side). See the cross-platform note in the FAQ.

Heh, I've got one of the old betas, although it's about 6 months old, and from the old Beenox site, but still.

But anyway, Ambrosia, you guys must be f*ing busy! I mean, you've got what, Hera, EV3, Ragnarok, Pop-Pop, and Coldstone! Jeez.

Well, keep up the good work!
