The Borb class cruiser, Harpy, cruised through the DSN-7824 sector.
"Sir, we are in the sector. No sign of anything anomalous yet." Said ensign Klng.
"Very well," said captain Obrb. "Keep scanning. We dont want to be caught by surprise by that that thing."
"Aye sir."
The Harpy continued patrolling the system, scanners on full. A few days later the cruiser finished scanning all parts of the system except the Umbra nebula.
"Sir," said the ensign. "There is no way any ship could withstand the electrical currents inside that. I recommend not looking there."
"Why not?" said the captain. "Do you think that the mighty Borb class cruiser cannot stand a small cloud of dust and gas with a few bits of static in it? I think you are a chicken!"
"No sir. I am trying to remind you that we do not know the capabilities of the ship that we are looking for, and that the lightning in there may weaken us so we can be defeated."
"Very well. Set a course for the Voinia sector. Engage."
