In the end, we decided to play a final between SHOES and Hyko. We couldn't have a tournament where the winner is decided by round difference. Therefore doing a final made sense. SHOES played Hyko in the final.

      SHOES won 3-2 against Hyko

Unfortunatly, we had a rather poor turnout. Only 5 people played in the tournament.
What happened? Were people poorly informed, or are there just not enough people around to play pop-pop?

C U around, and congratulations to SHOES for winning the tournemant

    • Congrats SHOES! The Crowd was amazed to see You again on the first place of a tourney for a long time. I think your revenue streams from merchandise will rise again. 🙂

Thanks to all for letting me participate although i came very late.
      Thanks to Helix for hosting.

      Hyko

P.S. Who has the power over the tournament mailing list currently? Anklebiter, are you still there? It is a pity that such a lists exists and we do not have the chance or don't know how to use it to announce tournaments.

Hyko, who once was the great Offender 😉

    • congrats SHOES!

and thanx to all the poppers of the Sunday Fight Night for the games!

      cu on the tracker!

    • The poorest turnout ever I think, which explains my victory! 🙂 But some of the rounds I played with Eno and Hyko were very intense and made it worthwhile for me.

Yes Hyko it's great, I have flogged loads of old stock since my victory. I've even managed to sell an old box of pens from Season 2002! Ahh... it's not easy being a professional, I don't know how much longer I can stay at the top. 😄

      ------------------

    • Oh and thanks for hosting Helix, I hope the poor turnout won't deter you from hosting again in the future.

      ------------------

    • Congrats SHOES! and sorry I wasn't there... but not only would I have needed to play on my little laptop, on an unregistered version of the game, over a dial-up connection.. I would also have missed going to the beach and hanging out in Santa Monica all day. Which I don't get to do very often, you can imagine! 😄 But never fear, I should be back home by the time the next tourney comes around, so I'll probably be there to provide another easy win for the rankings leaders. 😉 Also I'll update the (url="http://"http://squibix.net/dan/pop/rankings.php4")rankings(/url) at that point (if anyone cares :D).

Oh really?? Ok, then what if we make the next tournament next Sunday? Are you maybe hinting that pop-pop for windows is just around the corner??

Sounds very interesting if you ask me...

No way is windows pop-pop going to be ready for next Sunday. Both betas still have issues - the windows one LOTS of them, though I think mainly seem XP related as I'm having very little in the way of problems with Win 2k. Then again, that's being tested on our local home LAN, so it's got less issues anyway. I'm happy to say though that the Mac one has now reached what I would call fc stage. We could do the next tourney in that - except my guess is most tourney players are not registered beta testers, and hence don't have it.

P.S. helix - not that I mean to do you down - I think it's great that you're hosting all these tourneys - but we seem to be a pretty apathetic bunch here sadly (myself included, though to be honest, usually because I'm too busy). If you host them too often, the turnout is bound to drop off. It was once suggested that every 10 days was a about the right length. Well - see how this weekend goes, and who knows - maybe more people will turn up compared to last week. In fact it's not really even apathy - it's more the fact that when you're working a 4-50 hour week, your weekends tend to be spent well away quite often.
