I've just recently started playing pop-pop again, and while I'm on the phone for long periods of time, I typically play Expert in Puzzle Mode.

Well... no piccy, but I got to level 105 on expert, and had a score of 5,708,279 with +50 ready when I next hit the ball... at this point however, pop-pop crashed. Funnily enough, I haven't bothered since then

Sadly, I must confess that I had the score details as text in an e-mail - so nothing amazing about 'remembering' them I just didn't think I still had the dump too.

I never played much on Expert, or indeed much puzzle mode at all... but I confess (and this is quite shameful actually) that I once got up to level 166 on Hard and accumulated 14,926,123. Pictographical evidence (url="http://"http://squibix.net/dan/pop/pics/highscore.jpg")here(/url). Ugh.

Wow, and I wasted enough time getting to 105 - it had started repeating levels long before then which I guess it had done for you too? Unless hard mode has (a lot) more levels? Actually 'hard' is a bit of a misnomer there - especially compared to this new expert now

I liked puzzle mode ^^ It helped me with my aiming and therefore in clearing too.
I think you could get the ball going faster than you could in vs, too for that matter, and on levels where there were a lot of un-breakable bricks near the bottom, it provided a good way of testing (and speeding up ^~) your reactions for lots of low fast shots.
However, you're right - the only use for it was to hone your skills for vs. mode - even on expert, it was just too easy. ^_^;
