    • Warm-up Tournament

      6 13 313

Quickly, I am organising a small warm-up tournament tomorrow 22 February at 5pm CET (4pm GMT) - rules and details on: (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/impp/pop/")http://homepage.mac.com/impp/pop/(/url)

No prizes, no whatsoever - just a bit of fun. Remember read the rules before joining and please commit yourself for a small hour.

      See you there.

    • Nice one msxgamesbox. But how about 5pm CET on Sunday instead? 🙂 I'd be up for that I think.

SHOES, you are treading on thin water. I would highly suggest you stop trying to slit this small enough community in half. Number279 was the only person that volenteered when I needed a referee. He was even nice enough to change the time from 6PM to 4PM so more people could play.

This is my first and last warning, behave.

    • There is no need to split up the community of pop-pop players. It's great to have volunteers, and this is specially true that few people are willing to take the time to organise something. I remember for this when I launched the first tournament - was only picked up once.
Now about today's tourney, there is no intention at all to make it conflictual with tomorrow's one. At least I would hope we will remember this week-end with a lot of Pop-pop action!
Finally, i decided to do it at 5pm GMT so it gives the chance to Europeans players to be in one tournament this week-end, and maybe even two if they want to stay awake a bit longer on Sunday night.
About Shoes, I think he just was sarcastic - sure he said that because he has to defend his title (he won the two tournaments myself and Helix organised back in October and November).

I really do not appreciate at all your suggestion that I am trying to 'slit' this small community. I cannot play in a Saturday tournament and your previous tournament time of 4pm CST on Sunday was possibly too late for me. So I was hoping msxgamesbox could be persuaded to move his tournament to the same time on Sunday which would be well before your tournament (more convenient for Euro Poppers) and could have allowed me to play in both.

There is no need to be so heavy handed.

Again, good luck to everyone involved, I hope it goes well.

We changed some times for you guys. Check the topic, many things have changed. As for the tournament, I want to see this one happen, make sure it goes well, then we can see about expanding from there.

Please, give us time to get this all going.

Thank you all for playing, it was again good fun. If Crono and :frown:tm could play against each other that would be great. Hyko wins unless Crono beats :)tm by 3-0...

If I calculate correctly, Crono and I will be even if he wins against :)? with 3-0. What are the rules in this case?

@msxgamesbox Thanks again for organising the tourney 🙂

      ------------------

    • In case of tie between two players in number of wins, I look in order:

      1. Round Difference
      2. Rounds Won
      3. Score between the two players.

In this tournament case, in the event Crono beat :)tm by 3-0, you and him would have the same round difference, the same number of rounds won..; so Crono would be declared winner since he beat you 3-2.
For the time being, you are the winner. Because Crono joined 20mn after the tournament start, :)tm is excused as he already played his 4 games (fast ones) and left the lounge. Anyhow - it would be good they play against each other.

      Phil

      1. Score between the two players.

Yes, sure. I should have come to this conclusion by myself 🙂

      ------------------

    • I never even knew about this tournament... :frown: I gotta start paying more attention! msxgamesbox, I really like yr tournament structure, and I hope people keep using it; maybe one of these days I'll actually be able to take part!

    • I organised it rather quickly - I announced it just 24hrs before start (explaining probably why we were just 6 players). Anyhow, it ran very smoothly like the two first ones...
I'll be very busy next couple of months - little time at home or to spend on pop-pop. But sure I will be back sometime! Watch out!
